Mine is that shitposting by literally just posting marginal sexist boomer memes is dumb and theres literally no joy in that. Its a sad and lame way to shitpost. The joy in shitposting is the absurdity. This isnt even a bad enough to be enjoyable for it’s absurdly bad quality. This belongs next to your wine-mom aunt talking about how much she wants to drink wine, displayed as text over an ai generated minion

Whilst I mostly enjoy the more absurd / surreal / dadist qualities of posts the same as you do I still really admire some of these cat amongst the pigeons or spanner in the works type posts. Their ability to be taken at face value makes me laugh.

I just dont exactly get the impression everyone is upvoting because as an ironic shitpost- It validates a lot of shitty preconceived notions people have that do real harm, and casual sexism is probably the most unpleasant thing exported here from reddit when people moved over (which, this is a direct automated cross post from reddit. The account just automates posting reddit memes)
In my mind its hard to give something a pass if its both gross and preys on internalized harmful stereotypes or heirachies AND seems deeply unfunny. If I wanted Facebook memes making fun of women I feel like I’d go literally anywhere else on the internet. It doesnt feel tongue in cheek to me if its just the actual crappy sexist memes from actually sexist parts of the internet.

The other thing is about up/down votes. With the fediverse particularly votes seem to be affected more where you speak than what you say.
Each instance and more so community has a distinct flavour. A couples meme won’t work on a femcel comm. A new publication of a bible would bomb with the atheists but might be a hit with the book enthusiasts. So don’t worry about votes… we’re all complete strangers and our opinions, whilst interesting, are just opinions.
We’re social creatures, If I want a space without sexist shit and a culture where that kinda stuff is unwelcome, that means saying “ew, gross” when someone shows up with sexist shit. I wouldn’t even care that much that its unfunny if it weren’t also misogynistic.
