      We can fix this if people start voting again.

      That’s the key right there. Remember to go to the polls people, not just on Presidential election years, but every year.

        I keep watching for one of my local electors to be that person. I keep getting party puppets. Like the worst of the worst. I had Rick Scott and Anna Paulina Luna. The no soul types. My district (a peninsula) was divideded by chopping the black neighborhoods off the tip to connect with the immigrant neighborhoods on the other side of the bay. So competition was eliminated where it used to be a heavily divided poll. Florida and my county/district used to be close to 50/50 split on every elector and issue. The results would be nearly unpredictable. Anything that went over 60% in favor was rare. Since redistricting was pushed, competition was eliminated. Harmful legislation still has a hard time passing, but the state elected officials do what they want anyways.

        It’s a cycle.

        2028 is gonna be rock bottom, it’ll be bad enough people vote, and with the unbiased DNC we have, the people will get to pick the Dems candidate, and that means we won’t have to run a Clinton/Biden/Harris neoliberal that no one likes in the general.

        We’ll get a candidate like Mamdani, which is the kind of candidate the DNC chair he wanted and the party needed, before Mamdani had even won his general.

        The downside is we’ll fix shit and in 30-40 years our comfortable grandkids will start asking why they have to pay for social programs they’ll never need…

        And in comfortable times, people have kids, so there’ll be a baby boom again

        Like I said, it’s a cycle.

        We need to start realizing that as a society and proactively raising any baby boom generation to understand they’re not living in normal times, and winter always comes.

        That way they keep manning the wall.
