I think the problem with this framing is that they aren’t necessarily being dishonest. The behavior I am referring to is when people say, “yes there are problems but we’re not going to talk about them right now and if you push on it, we will assume you are covertly supporting The Enemy.”
Maybe that fits into the dishonesty you are referring to, tho!
