Your POV subscription has also lapsed and you’re stuck in 3rd person view. If this subscription is not paid then you will be downgraded to top down (GTA1) view before finally going to the basic plan of text only console.

I don’t mean this rudely, but in English you would say “uses Lemmy on their phone”. I’m presuming this is German grammar or similar seeping through 😅

Only mentioning to avoid other people assuming you’re saying only men use Lemmy, not having a go at ya :)

Thank you. Not a native english speaker here, things like pronouns are often a headache to me. In spanish phone is a male substantive, that’s where the “his” come from.

Yeah all good friend. I commend your efforts in using a non-native language!

I had the good fortune to grow up with English, so never judge someone for making a mistake (and can relate with my German grammar, which is pretty bad, despite growing up with that too!)

I’ve seen this particular error often because German boardgames often are translated wrong, where they use “he” for “the player”.

                Have a nice evening!

Fuck, I can actually foresee McDonald’s advertisements being holographic projected into the bottom corner of your windshield. It’s not even much worse than what car companies are already doing with your car.

My car keeps saying “time for a McDonald’s break!” and pulling into the drive-through. I’ve been here for five hours, please send help!

I’ve got the Pay-Per-Roll™ formula, it’s cheaper because most people don’t actually roll that much so a sub with infinite rolling is a waste of money.

Plot twist: In 2050, McDonald’s restaurants no longer exist, and nobody eats there anymore. However, the company still generates $66B per year with their “ad free” subscription model.

I’m still trying to figure out how it’s legal to have massive advertisements lining roadways specifically designed to distract drivers.

I think it was ford that submitted a patent for a camera that points forward, reads bilboards, then plays a video on your dash. I hate how shitty technology is being used all in the name of money and advertising.

Well never reach any kind of utopian future where things just work and technology is used for good. It’s not about helping and feeding the needy, it’s all about satisfying the wealthy. It’s a disgusting timeline, literal rapists and genocidal maniacs running countries.

Off subject, but I wonder if these UAP sightings by the air force and navy are optical illusions, perhaps projected onto windshields.

Because they were shown to be defying physics, it’s the least fantastical explanation I can think of that fits what is undeniably true, those that deny the facts as they are notwithstanding.

I’m convinced that most North American cryptids were just memorable encounters with an owl that may have had substances involved on the part of the observer. Optical illusions being the primary source of UFO sightings, not out of the question to me

What is going on? I’ve now seen two of this exact joke on Lemmy but one is this picture and the other is a video of a different dude in a different car with a different ad in the windshield.

Does it make someone a profit?

Must be good according to the free market.

We will never escape the drive to enshitification under capitalism, even if we manage to get some good regulations in the short-term, a subset of reforms will always eventually be undone or loopholed.

      Line must go up.

Dear lord give me Socialism in our timePlease join your local, non-Stalinist, socialist organisations and together win Socialism in our time.

inb4 someone pointing out all the shitty regimes that called themselves “Socialist”. It’s not socialist unless it’s democratic, how else do the workers control society if they can’t decide collectively how to run society?

This is the real reason tech is pushing self-driving cars. If you don’t need to see the road, you can look at more advertisements.

And they’ll sell it as a cost-saving feature, like smart TVs and Kindle tablets. “We can provide this at a reasonable price because the costs are subsidized with advertising.” You can buy a car with a traditional windshield for $80k or with an AdShield ™ for $40k.

      self-driving cars

Something I’ve never understood about self-driving cars is why would you want the expense of owning one if you’re not driving it? It’s like how rich people used to own expensive cars but employed a chauffeur and never drove themselves.

It’s not actually discounted though. They still make a heafty profit. They just mark up the alternative. Tomorrow they will make it more shitty and more expensive. Stock owners gotta extract ever more value. Line go up! End goal is to be a monopoly, protected by the law, get lots of money and provide little in value to anyonee in return.
