I participated in a protest where basically, a bunch of socialists were protesting about some bigoted laws/politicians in another country (not imperial core or exploited global south)

When they initially approached me to let me know about it, the flyer, website, and conversations all mainly focused on specific Western institutions as the bad actors funding and backing these bigoted groups in the foreign country which was why I decided this wasn’t an op and wanted to join

However, during the actual protest, almost all the signs were mainly focused on the foreign politicians’ and called them out by name as the bad actors

Now, we were in front of the country’s governmental office so that might make sense

But a part of me thinks I may have gotten baited to try and displace these politicians for wider geopolitical goals under the guise of anti-bigotry
