People here on lemmy are pretty fuckin rude about this kind of stuff. Everyone here is an armchair atheist keyboard warrior “facts over feelings” asshole (see probably straight white dudes)
But there’s weirdness out there.
Children who recall the lives of others deceased before they were born making some believe in reincarnation.
The placebo phenomenon, still entirely not understood just known to happen. When you are confident, feel loved/love, you find yourself empowered. Those aren’t real tangible things but have genuine impact on everything we do. By definition that shit is magic.
Everyone has their stories. My boss went to a psychic and got blown away by what she said about his deceased family members. My partner was randomly approached on the street by someone who 100% predicted something that ended up happening to their mother. I have my own shit.
Fact is we don’t know what consciousness is and anyone in these comments aggressively stating a hard no doesn’t know just like you or I don’t. Their arrogance over that is blinding and limiting to them, there is always more happening that we don’t understand.
Humans are dumb. We literally cannot even see most colors. Dunning-Kruger effect is real, how the fuck do we have such arrogance to answer these kind of questions?
Look up interstitium, for years doctors and scientists were told and continued to tell people to ignore this it wasn’t a thing and was irrelevant. Now it is a whole organ system that appears vitally important. Nobody knows everything.
Thank you for understanding what I really asked for. Everyone else just replied to me with just one thought without even thinking about the question from every side. I was just asked this question because there are people on earth that we cannot lose, but they leave forever. Sometimes the mind can’t accept these kinds of changes, and the desire to see the person increases drastically.
I’d just always be curious and skeptical and aware that we don’t know.
Maybe we don’t lose them forever maybe an afterlife is real and we’re just separated for a period.
I personally believe in a universal consciousness, all matter/energy is bound to the same source and we are just the universe looking at itself trying to understand what is happening and panicking the entire time because wow there’s a lot going on out here.
