I can dig the 2040’s.
But of an un branded vibe to it too.

I wouldn’t dismiss the region so easily, Santiago can routinely take 5.+ earthquakes in a city of 6m people and laugh about it because their buildings are designed and built to so.
Love the aesthetic. Looks like it could be trick portable too!
He owed an Austin Martin dealership. The car is a rare model worth far more than its sticker.
From what I understand about the new car business, I’d almost guarantee this car was floorplanned / purchased by the dealership itself (which he owned) and which then sold it for the final and ludacris sum listed.
I don’t doubt he is an out of touch candidate, with zero connection to his constituency and probably terrible ideas on governance, but this storey itself is slightly less remarkable than the headline suggests.
Excel wouldn’t stop converting sku numbers to date formats. IT guy was excited to share an “easy fix” for that with Open Office…
When I saw his genuine excitement as he described Linux, plus the security it provided I realized, if I ran Linux I’d have the best support in the company. And I did.
I eventually had to move on from Linux at work after 10yrs or so but it’s all I run at home.
All because of Excel and those fucking date codes. Which yes, Open Office solved as advertised.
And yes I know you don’t need Linux for that but it was a long time ago.
I find that last bit true with non-thong underwear as well.
I never played Fallout. Really enjoying the show.
I would say it definitely has a video game feel, that is they’re on a quest, within some kind of a side quest, additional characters seem like NPCs, and the chase just seems to go on.
No real complaint in that, it might be the best story version of a video game I’ve seen, but once you pick up on it it’s hard not to shake the thought.
I’m kinda surprised someone hasn’t done that yet, just as an “fuck you” to whichever country they are beefing with at the moment.
Like buy a bunch of expensive real-estate, and get locals to live there as a flop house and piss off the neighborhood.
I mean, I’m also not surprised but still.
RTJ for POTUS.
With Secretary of State DeLaRocha.
I like this answer best.
OH SHIT HE IS RISEN PRAISE BE
The Midwestern American term is “Shitbird”.
Everything the other comments have said here tracks with the Great Lakes variety.
Filthy, assholeish, with a trash based Lord of the Flies culture.

@aihorde@lemmy.dbzer0.com draw for me a Pomeranian with a Crown of Gold and Jewels on a pile of bacon and the blood of his enemies surrounded by a heard of Pomeranians cooking spit roast bbq in the background
@aihorde@lemmy.dbzer0.com draw for me the four horsemen of the apocalypse from East of West arguing over the last slice of pizza
I mute most games. Wish there was the option for them to just broadcast crowd noise and refs.
That chess board is dope!
Curious how/where the mouse buttons work with the trackball.
Sleep paralysis was part of untreated apnea for me. And it sucks.
I’m not a doctor, but you might consider a sleep study if you can.
I don’t have one but musical or guitar communities may have recommendations. Lot of foot controllers in that world.
Wide variety of feel and purpose there.
BMW has had lane assist (I believe standard) for a few years now. As others above have said, it gives resistance and visible feedback with varying degrees of force if you try to change lanes without a blinker. Many others makes now do as well.
Essentially, in a 2018 or newer model BMW it is a pain in the ass to change lanes - even on an empty road - if you don’t use a blinker. And it probably snitches on you to your insurance company if you frequently make the light come on.
As for the lowered 2011 3 series with the loud exhaust and not quite right looking M badges passing you in a cloud of strawberry mountain dew flavored vapor, well… yeah what do you expect. The forest of little tree air fresheners makes it hard to see through the rear view anyway.
