You are likely scanning my profile and history because I said something in a tone that made you feel funny or angry. This is called being reactionary. You can overcome it.

  • I do not want an aircraft carrier. I do not want dead palestinian kids. I do not care about our tactical interest in the middle-east nor do I feel threatened by fucking countries like motherfucking Venezuela.

I want healthcare to take care of people I care about who need medicine.

That’s it, that’s ALL i am asking of my country in return for the massive amount of money I pour into the country from my paychecks.

And you know what? I guarantee if you said this to about 90% of conservatives who voted for Trump without contention or condemnation of any characters or storylines, they would agree with you. This is why the media empire is trying to pry us apart with social/cultural war.

  • The way they got our population to elect Trump is a motherfucking case study in democracy sabotage. The KGB manuals for destabilizing nations from 50 years ago describe how to amplify and boost the most extreme stories on both sides of every issue until the population tunes out and stops caring or paying attention.

I’m not saying it was just Russia that did this here, but that it’s a known and easy to accomplish tactic, aided by forces like Elon Musk who bought one of the largest media platforms, then outsourced the propaganda grinding to countries like India where the modest income they receive from shares and likes is enough to live on. That was deliberate, that was on purpose.

The news media outlets from MSNBC, to CNN to FOX to every other fringe corporate news organization are owned by and paid for by the same people who benefit from you thinking your side is winning and their side is losing. Either you become a frothing team-member or you get burned out and stop believing anything you read. Either result is a win to the oligarchy.

  • I have high hopes that Light No Fire will learn the lessons from NMS and make a world that is both dynamic and interesting, but grounded enough in a single planet that it’s not such a slog to explore and it’s not just “Oh, neat, a green planet with blue worm aliens and purple trees, this is a color/creature combo I haven’t seen in hours.”

Also, imagine how nice it would be if they just drop it as a huge MMO and you just drop in somewhere and people start randomly finding each other and building communities. That would go so hard, and yet the studios capable of making that kind of experience are soooo scared of the 2% of players who will play that and whinge all over the forums that they’re “bored, lost and can’t find anyone.”

  • Do you even understand that’s the propaganda the oligarchs push the hardest?

They don’t push a narrative that trying is pointless, they are doing the opposite, they are showing pandering bullshit to both sides, every day. It is in corporate interest that we are all fighting each other and hating each other for whatever group we belong to, and then funding those groups and reinforcing those lines of division.

Part of that plan is to constantly push and design algorithms to push pandering news stories for both sides to consume and believe themselves winning against the eeeevil enemy. News stories like this are part of that machine. Nobody on the right saw this story, their version is the complete opposite of your reality, but the people who design these atomized universes know neither side is ever going to cross lines and look at what the other side is seeing.

This situation is not going to change until a better story is introduced, but right now the people controlling the distribution of the stories are the wealthy oligarchs and corporations and donor-class. Our last and only chance for change is slowly, deliberately ripping the foundations out of the political structure they build. Local communities and town and state elections are largely uncontested and produce all the people, representatives and judges who have allowed corporations to have basically unlimited power to do what they want.

  • 100%. I hate this pandering bullshit.

Every single headline, on BOTH sides of every issue:

“People you hate are losing bigly and are getting OWNED by opposition, YOUR side is winning and things are finally about to change!”

This is exactly why Trump won. Not because people looked at these stories and believed them, but because people stopped believing this shit entirely. People have broadly gone numb to this rhetoric and tuned out of news and information because they get it from aggregators and the stuff that rises to the top is invariably “hot stories” people click on, which is always this pandering bullshit.

I have tentatively have Reuters and Associated Press as primary headline news sources, they’re a lot better about neutral reporting, and naturally those stories never make it to the aggregators because they’re far less exciting or emotionally validating.

People voted for the mess we have right now because they didn’t know what was going on, what was true and real, and said that Trump seemed “genuine” and while true to the extent that he’s open about his hate, that should say volumes about how desperate people are for anything remotely “real.”

As a cishet man, even I’ve noticed a jarring trope with LGBTQ+ representation across media.

I don’t want to get lost in TV tropes (again) to see if this is a “thing” but what stone tablet has it been written that gay characters, particularly lesbians, have to all have tragic love stories that end with death or disaster?

“Sure, we can show lesbians kiss, that’s hot, but we can NEVER allow them to live happily, that would be unnatural!” - Some movie studio board of investors.

  • I am using a 7-year-old video card on a 5-year-old machine and have been notified my health care premiums are going up 1000%.

I’ve been playing small, cheap, low-res social games with friends and family like Misery or RV There Yet and those are nice. But I feel like gaming broadly is starting to recede in my rear-view mirror. Too many real-world problems and stresses and not enough pay.

I am not sure what all these huge companies are going to do when nobody can afford anything anymore.

I mean, we have cameras this big now --> o

We also have AI systems for parsing vast amounts of data and predicting human behavior, we have giant, international corporations using all of this tech. Are you in the EU? Are you in Canada? Or any “developed” nation? Because this isn’t going to be a USA/China problem, this is going to be a worldwide problem as we shift globally to techno-oligarchy as a global ruling system.

If you want to use Facebook \ Instagram \ Twitter \ YouTube with friends, use a second account that is not remotely connected to your real name.

You should do this anyway, whatever actually happens with this proposed bill.

Currently it’s not a law or requirement to show anyone your social media history when arriving in the USA for any reason. But it’s being “proposed” by the Trump admin. Which could mean anything. I suspect it won’t make it very far towards being written into law because it’s so utterly batshit and hard to build a legal system around.

Reminder to everyone already canceling their plans: this is a proposal and not even a very serious one because the logistics and legal changes around it could be a nightmare. This is more “some shit the Trump admin said” and not necessarily ever going to pass as law.

This tweet is from motherfucking polymarket and if you don’t immediately suspect that source, you’ve gone too far and touched too much grass.
