It depends on why you want a compact phone. If it’s to fit into small pockets then the flip phones do great, but if it’s because modern phones are too large to comfortably hold and use for your hands, or because you want a smaller screen (for less distraction or for better battery life) then the flip phones are pretty bad.

Slightly faster charging and slightly worse range if they keep to the website specs. If they can get work fleet vehicle sales this will probably do well, but for an average consumer seems DOA at $30k in a way it wasn’t at $20k
Yeah this is now more than a fully trimmed new Chevy bolt was last year with tax incentives. With this you sacrifice basically everything to in theory be cheaply fixable and modable, and you get an open air trunk to haul light but bulky loads.

Sure, they weren’t that formal, but they were weddings in the West where loafers were appropriate, so it depends heavily on the wedding itself. That being said OP has clarified that this wedding is black tie optional, so loafers wouldn’t be.
I think machine compatibility plays a huge role, some machines do mostly ‘just work’ while others are a pain. It also definitely requires some tinkering, though mostly on setup or on the first week or two in my experience.
Also, ymmv and a lot of people swear by them but I’ve never had good luck with Ubuntu based distro, they’ve always been super buggy with hard to track fixes for me. I like fedora a lot better and it similarly has decent (though not nearly as extensive) community support for weird bugs, but I know people swear by many things.

Eh, I’ve worn loafers to two weddings and been plenty formal. One was at a camp and one was in a barn though, so it depends heavily on context.
Yeah, I’ve had one hardware glitch that support sent me a detailed video how to fix by resetting the mainboard within a few hours of writing them, fixed it within 10 minutes. Other than that any issues I’ve had are linux-funkiness, like odd sound profiles on the speakers that I could fix myself, and have been gradually taken care of through updates along the way.
That’s pretty disingenuous, the Hyundai ionic 6 is either the second or third fastest charging (km/minute) EV on the market and costs twice as much as the most affordable non-chinese EVs. I’m an advocate for mass ev adoption, but to pretend that real issues don’t exist hurts the movement. Battery capacity doesn’t necessarily need to increase imo, but all cars need the charging speed of Hyundai/Tesla or better before these types of trips are reasonable.

It’s not just evacuation, it’s a sudden illness or death in the family that means that I have to drive 7-12 hours on very short notice, which has happened to me twice in the last 5 years. I daily drive an EV but to pretend that I don’t sometimes need more range than it has and can easily compensate for (lack of charging infrastructure in rural areas, charging adding 4 hours to a 12 hour drive unless you drive a 50k+ car or a tesla) is ridiculous. Tbh I think the 260 miles of my bolt is more than enough for me if it charged like a Tesla/Hyundai and there were more chargers in West Virginia
