  • anxiety and self loathing

I can’t communicate effectively with anyone except in a face to face conversation apparently. Everything I think to say sounds so stupid and I hate my brain for it. I constantly feel like I’m interrupting or inserting myself into situations where I don’t belong and can’t contribute meaningfully. Everything I say sounds somehow insincere and simultaneously corny. I can’t even text my family or friends without anxiety making me triple guess everything I send and convince myself that everyone would be happier never hearing from me again. I am incapable of returning the helpful and positive sentiments of people who have been nice to me without my brain screaming at me to just stop trying

  • I’ve almost completely stopped smoking weed, went about two weeks without any at all until some mysterious shoulder injury kept me from sleeping for a few days and I was desperate. I’ve only smoked a tiny amount before bed a handful of times since, and I don’t have any desire to smoke during the day at all. So not perfect, but could be a lot worse.

I’ve been walking for at least an hour most days, mostly kept up with reading more books. I’ve been having a lot of other issues that I can’t control that are making life harder than it needs to be, so I’m honestly just happy I’m not taking any huge steps backwards. Barely hanging on feels like a huge victory lately

  • Thanks for the reply! It’s embarrassing how I can’t justify any of this to myself until someone else applies it to themselves first, so I very much appreciate you doing so. I swear one day I’ll have the confidence to just believe myself in the first place lol

we do tend to be quite diverse.

One of the most consistently affirming things in regards to me trying to figure out my gender recently has been realizing how similar some of my feelings/experiences have been with people who are so different from me in other ways. It really helps me dispel the thoughts of being an imposter when I can relate to so many common experiences shared by so many different types of people
