  • Yeah there seems to be a lot of closed mindedness everywhere. And I think people were always quick to ridicule and cast out. At least that’s what my dad’s music says at least. 😅

I guess we’ve had different experiences. I don’t think most people I meet feel like it’s their way only. Except for a few notable exceptions 🇺🇸. I do think that a lot of people feel and think the opposing “side” is bad.

But at the same time I don’t really blame people for being that way. The stakes are seem to be getting higher.

One example that comes to mind is in my country. The highest level of government overturned a law that protected the bodily autonomy of women a few years ago. In my country if you have a uterus in some places, the local governments can imprison, and even put you to death if your pregnancy goes a way the government doesn’t like. I have not heard of anyone being executed yet though. Only imprisoned.

Essentially one half of our species trying to subjugate the other half. Oh and by the way, it’s been that for a really long time. Down with the Patriarchy. ♀️

Or just the other day; A person in one of the most powerful positions of our species threatened to wipe out an entire civilization.

I agree that almost all of the conflict and suffering our species places on ourselves is a waste of time, hampering us, and is bad. But for some people it is a fight for survival. And I suspect those people most likely won’t be open-minded with “only a little genocide!”.

I spent way too much time writing this so I probably won’t respond. I’m going to play some Foxhole. Good luck in the trials ahead for our species in the coming years, stranger. Don’t forget Trans Rights Are Human Rights. 🏳️‍⚧️

  • Well I’m not one to laugh when I go into a room full of people and upset everyone. But you do you I guess.

To my understanding “woke mind virus” is far different than the things you described. What you described are common misinformation given to people in lower economic backgrounds to sow discourse among the working class . To me the “woke mind virus” is more of an understanding of how systemic racism and sexism in many laws have kept many people intentionally in poverty.

In short, you’re like, using the words wrong around here bruv.

  • I use matrix. I like it. I never really finished setting up my server so I never got voice or video chat working. Presumably they do work though.

In short, matrix is actually the a protocol under the hood. I used matrix-synapse. To my understanding it is essentially federated discord. There are many different UI apps that work with Matrix. I use Element but there are many more.

Relative to your app; It might be worth looking into seeing if you could have the option to federate with matrix servers.

Though the same problem come to my mind. Discord, Slack, Matrix, yadda yadda yadda aren’t index-able by web crawlers. Maybe I’m old school, but having problems and solutions posted on public web forums made knowledge really accessible. Now a days all the valuable wisdom is gated behind companies like Discord. What a sad day for humanity. 😢

  • The article covers a lot of topics.

The Second Amendment is about open carry, not concealed carry

That was written like two hundred years ago. I think we’re reading a bit too much into it.

The landmark Heller Supreme Court decision highlighted open carry case law from around the country

That’s cool I guess. Roe Vs Wade was overturned so this could be changed to couldn’t it?

Open carry may be the silver bullet for national constitution carry

Since politicians hate open carry so much, utilizing it helps to advance permitless concealed carry in the state legislatures.

Are we talking about allowing random people to be allowed to carry hidden guns on them? I’m not quite that’s a good idea. I’m pretty that’s a bad idea.

Open carry is speech through expression – a political message – and extremely efficient mass-communication

When one is open carrying in everyday life in public, political messages are being transmitted and received. Messages such as “Self-reliance is valuable,” and “I know I must protect myself,” “I know making a phone call and waiting on strangers to come isn’t realistic,” “I can do this, so can you,” “I am enjoying freedom and personal responsibility,” “I am contributing to the collective need for security, instead of being a burden on others,” “I value our freedoms,” “My actions aren’t determined merely by the feelings of others,” “This is a safe and valuable tool that I carry,” and many more are transmitted without the need for speech. Dozens, hundreds, or even thousands of people in a day can receive some of these messages while the messenger just goes about his or her everyday life, requiring no extra time or effort on the part of the messenger.

Open carry says, “anyone can do this in a free society, not just specialized government agents.” It is a powerful message that gets people thinking deeply on a subconscious level, and sometimes even on a conscious level as well. It says, “guns are valuable, and we are fortunate we can have and carry them.” It also reminds people of their mortality, their vulnerability, and their need to protect themselves. These ideas help people overcome dependence on the state and the tendency to shirk responsibility.

Woah dude that’s a lot of political messages you think you’re sending. Most of them are pretty weird to me. One of them is down right anti-social. And not like oh ho tee hee teenager sad anti-social. Like literally advocating for the destruction of the bonds of society anti-social.

Also, isn’t reminding people of their mortality and vulnerably considered a rude thing to do? Is the author suggesting we should go around saying “Hey pal we’re going to fucking die someday!”? I usually get frowned at when I do that. And I really don’t don’t think reminding people of their mortality is going to help people the way they think it will.

I do think guns are valuable though. We are vary fortunate to have them.

Open carry reconditions the public which has been subjected to anti-gun propaganda for decades

Nah bruh I live near gun owners in the sticks. They regularly do some pretty stupid shit.

Open carry helps people overcome their conditioned fear of guns – where reason and logic fail miserably

Naw dude the fear is totally reasonable. Modern firearms are pretty fucking nuts. I think modern firearms in most situations would just make people anxious.

Open carry teaches children responsibility and action

I think a child seeing a gun for the first time would have no meaning attached to it at all. A child would have no idea what it is. That has to be told to the child by someone else. Or found out the hard way…

Open carry has a crime deterrent effect

This is just a philosophical conundrum. There isn’t much research on the topic. The author even admits it. I guess I agree that if everyone was carrying a gun on them; Threatening someone in public with a gun be very tough.

Guns become renormalized – everyday, unremarkable, and even unnoticed as was always the case prior to racist slavery-based gun control in the USA

When gun ownership comes back out of the closet, and more people opt to exercise the crucial right of open carry, gun owners cement the right into place. The debate on guns ends and life goes on. Before the racist Jim Crow laws, and for whites even a long while after, guns were carried here and there and everywhere. Women didn’t don red shirts and demand men get rid of their guns. Only the slave-masters, the democrats, wanted to disarm their slaves. Now the would-be slave-master democrats and “rinos” wish to disarm and enslave everyone but law enforcement, who would act as their slave-handlers.

I’m pretty sure guns were not everywhere or common. Maybe in the mid-west of the US. But for the rest of America and the world? No.

And, holy shit bro this author doesn’t know history. I make the conjecture that they’re like living in an alternate reality. The democrats and the republics were the other way around at that time in history. Here’s a short article on it.

Open carry is the epitome of freedom – public display of mastery of tyranny

    wtf?

Open carry is a constant reminder for would-be tyrants of the potential dangers of their actions

Is the author is suggesting that people walking around with guns would stop tyrants from trying to take over? Well here in the US we have lots of guns. There’s someone trying to be a tyrant; and very few people with guns have tried to used their guns to stop the tyrant. I don’t think Tammy taking a glock with her to get coffee would do anything.

Open carry heightens awareness even more than concealed.

Many who conceal carry notice they maintain, in general, a higher state of alertness when carrying vs. when not carrying. This is because of the awesome responsibility that comes with carrying such a powerful weapon. Open carry does the same thing, but to an even much greater extent.

I’m really starting to think this author is kind of nuts.

The Militia is not very well organized nor well regulated as it should be, but open carry paves the way

I don’t think open carry helps pave a way for a militia. As a side note I do like the militia idea. I play way to many zombie video games. If some crazy shit happens and we gotta deal with hordes of human sized targets. You better wish you neighbor knows how to reload a gun.

Open carry gets people thinking of their vulnerability and mortality, and this is not a bad thing!

    Already covered.

Open carry is the most efficient and fastest way to restore gun rights and personally, individually, enjoy liberty

I don’t understand how people carrying a gun around will give me freedom to go where and do what I want. I think that’d do the opposite.

    Open carry sparks conversations

Gross I don’t want to talk to people.

Open carry inspires the heart and stimulates the mind

Yeah I do agree that it stimulates the mind alright. Though not at positively as the author thinks.

Sweet Liberty that took more time than I wanted. 1/10 would not do again. Overall seems like the author uses passion more than reason. I’d avoid them if they had a gun. Which I presume they do. Don’t forget: Trans rights are human rights 🏳️‍⚧️.

  • That’s a lot of broad observations in one paragraphs. 😅

I’ve heard there’s an uptick in videos of, and in general, men feeling bad. I don’t use many social media platforms so I couldn’t confirm it.

I don’t think I’ve seen any uptick in young men finding confidence. I think maybe the opposite problem is happening. Young men are gaining confidence and finding their “manliness” in really questionable habits and ideals.

I don’t know about the rest of the world but yeah in the US/Oregon the job market does not seem very happy right now.

I think dating has become hard for everyone. Men and Women. And everyone else too. 🏳️‍🌈

I have a lack of hope for the future but I’m just one person.

I use to feel physically unwell but I got a bunch of drugs from Oregon Health Plan.
