Yea I have the feeling that he’ll use this term to make sure he won’t be going to jail when he’s out of office, I just don’t see him as really wanting to run. Pretty sure he said as much during his campaign (like everything he says take that with a grain of salt)

I think there’s a real chance he’ll pardon himself and bounce within a week. Even the fake president-for-uninterested-oldsters level of engagement is clearly too much for him at this point.

Maybe he could simply ignore the term limit and have the Supreme Court rule in his favor (maybe making up some bullshit related to non-consecutive terms despite the 22nd being clear enough that that shouldn’t work), but yeah I doubt he’d even want it.
