Microsoft: Sees that you like this feature
Next year: “Attachment reminders are available to O365 Professional Plus subscribers. Upgrade now?”
Okay, microsoft did do something right.
vomits
I saw Google do this before I saw Microsoft do it.
So, obviously, Google is the hero and without flaw.
Thunderbird had it for a while afaik. I thought it was the default for the last year’s.
I use arch btw.
Pretty sure Apple did it back in 2012
I have an Apple iPhone XVII Pro Ultra SE 360 btw
Im sure their new version of outlook doesn’t have this.
Their new version is web based obviously
Another help is to fill in the recipients AFTER you finish writing the email. That way you can’t automatically hit send when you finish writing the text, helps make sure you do a quick double check that everything is correct
On Gmail, you can configure emails to not send until 30s after you click Send. It gives you time to “undo” the send
Huh, I just woke up it’s 0320 and i had to check that i had attached something last night because I was worried i had fucked it up.
Then open lemmy and this is the first meme i see.
This is why I’m convinced we’re in a simulation
Thunderbird had this for so long, it was definitely something I noticed when having to use Outlook at work.
presses yes out of reflex
Thank god for the optional undo send I swear
But like so many things, I feel like this feature has gotten worse over the years. Seemed to be fairly accurate for some time, but it honestly wouldn’t surprise me if they’ve made it shittier with “AI”. Now I get more false positives than anything, and the one time recently I did actually forget to attach a file, the message didn’t even show up … I guess because I said “I’ve included the latest copy” rather than “I’ve attached the latest copy”?
how do I turn this on?
In my experience, this shows up if I mention an attached file somewhere in the email.
ahh I just tested and it works indeed
