Been on HRT for over 4 years at this point and have had FFS. It’s kinda wild that people have told me I am their transition goals. Felt like only yesterday that I was telling people the same thing.

People seem to forget that trans people always existed, you just weren’t as visible (understandably).

I remember being sat in a bus station in the UK about 20 years ago, someone quite clearly in the early stages of transition sat there just waiting for their bus, and most of the people around pointing and snickering (had to edit that word because automod thought I’d dropped a slur). I made eye contact and gave them a smile, they mouthed me a ‘thank you’. Was a small moment but stayed with me.

What’s so hard about treating people with dignity and basic respect?

Same. Never thought the 4 year mark would be that point, but here we are. Are you still working on things? I still have to do major improvements on my voice.

4 years is elder trans? I’ve been elder trans for a full year and a half?

…I’m not sure if I can process that information. I feel like I still understand the trans experience less than people who’ve been transitioned for half that time. I get asked for advice sometimes and I’m just a deer in the headlights.

Well, hate to be another but you’re beautiful and my goals as well. I just cracked 2 weeks ago though so I’m still new to it all. ❤️

Just wanna say how beautiful you are <3

I’m 2.5 years on HRT but only now making plans for surgeries and stuff. Switching from DIY to official prescription with an endo. Now asserting my name, pronouns, and preferred style more often. Hoping to begin voice therapy soon, working on makeup skills, etc.

Everyone at work uses my preferred name (except occasionally some randos in HR). I’m not shy about being trans either.

Basically I never thought I’d make it this far, and I’m only getting started!

Yeah I’m starting to process that most trans people my age transitioned at least a few years older than me. I’ve been there, done that, and am where I want to be in that aspect of life. Still strange

I had a really weird realization yesterday that my two sons are my “trans elders.”

They have been out for years, and the oldest is taking puberty blockers, while I’ve been out for just a few months and trying to deal with and understand things about myself that are completely new to me. They have been really good guides when they can, and super supportive.

    I’m so thankful for them.
