    Oh wow the FP7 has an interceptor variant! It would be amazing if Ukraine managed to build an air defense system that doesn’t rely on the good will and good faith of other nations to be useful against ballistic missiles.

      The FP7 is basically a replacement for the Soviet S300 missiles. Ukraine still has a lot of those systems around and they work decently well, but they can not make new missiles for them. However making a good interceptor missile is really hard. So they start to produce a simpler ground attack version now, so they can then change the production line to interceptor production later. Btw the S300 can also do ground attack.

      It really would. But it’s a damn tricky problem. The main thing they have going for them is that they’re not bound by any treaties from using huge explosives to take out the target.
