There is a phrase “Misery loves company” whereby people feeling stressed, depressed, or otherwise just bad, take comfort in knowing others feel that too.
Missouri is pronounced similarly (depending on accent and dialect) to misery though typically it is pronounced more like miz-SER-ee.

Quite the opposite. It has such a heating effect that they argue it’s unsafe to hold further public hearings in person and it has now to be on zoom where they have full control who to give a voice to and when to mute them.
