They got sugar in them, I’ll bet the combo of that, msg, and citric acid may give them that flavor
Do not eat doritos
Adding sugar lets you add more salt
Everything is ladened with high fructose corn syrup
And I say this as a garbage food enthusiast
I just try to eat vegetables too
I bet chips are better outside the usa, the shit here is lousy. I go to the store and think oh wow a new flavor surely this time it will be good, only to get rug pulled.
All the best chips I’ve ever eaten were from China, Japan, or Singapore
They are. Just plain old potato chips in Argentina tasted twice as good and the ingredients list was half as long.
The list is not supposed to be more than a line, it’s potato, oil, salt
Americans put more sugar in everything
We’re getting too Reddity discussing the nuances between treats made for different regional markets by the same multinational conglomerates.
There’s a difference?
Could be wrong but I think other countries have more stringent restrictions on preservatives and other junk food additives so they may not have the same recipe as their American counterparts.
And the boxes are smaller too. My father used to remark how the cereal boxes in Italy were way smaller than the ones in America.
TBF, the cereal boxes in America are like 70% air these days
You are not wrong.
Compare the ingredients of American and European food based products.
Apparently the US version of Cool Ranch Doritos uses Buttermilk, that might be it.
Yep, the Coke is worse too. I think it depends on which foods get made domestically with high fructose corn syrup vs another country with a different sugar?
No wonder I’m a diabetic. I miss Doritos and Coke.
Mexican Coke really is tasty. I don’t even like colas, but that one is solid. But BDS, Coca Cola being evil by default, etc…
That’s the real sugar you are tasting, and the absence of corn syrup.
