They’re usually for beer but some countries don’t allow connivence stores to sell beer. I guess they have a blueprint for these stores and when they can’t have a beer cave they just call it a soda cave.
I like the idea of a connivance store
Scheming behind the counter
im pretty sure this is just how the fair folk get you these days. mushroom circles are soooo last millennium

Oh, my local convenience store used to have a thing like that back when I was a kid. I loved it.
Going into a walk in on a hot ass day and picking an ice cold drink is basically a tiny slice of heaven
These selfish self-service soda cavers are taking the soda jobs from all the honest hard-working soda jerkers
maybe they should try being soda nice guys
They had something like this in our local convenience store, although the doors were wider. It was used for both beer and soda and it was quite nice in there in the summer.
Now the store is closed because convenience stores are no longer viable (nobody smokes anymore, magazines and newspapers are digital, supermarkets are open almost all the time) and then ones that survive only do so by being makeshift post offices with some candy bars at the counter.
Funny how in Poland convenience stores thrive mainly due to the govt banning Sunday shopping (and also them being owned mostly by a very exploitative franchise and them snuffing out local shops and them being fucking everywhere to the point that you can often stand by one and see another one from there)
Soda cave? Lame. Call it a Pop Stop.
coke hole
And they say white people have no culture
I’ve been in one of these but it was for beer and I was freezing my ass off. I need to bring a hoodie when I go to that store.

Eclectic bungalow
This is really, really good
Looks like something you’d find in Utah. Is this in Utah?
This looks like Sheetz. That’s where the Soda Cave (and Beer Cave) comes from at least, so likely North East US.
100% a Sheetz. Gods know I’ve been in enough of them to recognize this anywhere.
I’ve never heard of Sheetz, but almost every gas station chain in New England now has a beer cave.
We have them in PA
I know this is probably an anti-shoplifting thing.
But think of how chilly it is in there! I want to go in now.
I’m posting from the soda cave. No one can hurt me here.
these are usually “beer caves” instead of soda, so i always assumed there was some kind of alcohol law quirk to blame
either that or it’s just a way to brand “letting customers into the fridge because you physically can’t fit everything on the shelves”
I miss working with a walk-in cryo freezer.
It’s like a portal to Antarctica.
“Soda Cave (2026)”
Tagline: Hell is cold“Let’s get out of here. It’s cold and it’s kind of creepy in here.”
“This room is huge. Why’s it so big? Look at that funky freezer thing over there. Hey - Ms. Anime - does that say ‘freezer’ in Japanese?”
“No. It says ‘freezing’.”
“Imma open it,” he starts walking towards it.
“Don’t. Let’s go.”
Once he’s about five feet away - we hear it’s making a low pitched, soft eldritch sound…
