I work for a courier and have the only vehicle without a charging cradle for the scanner. As you can imagine, it’s quite a bit busier than usual this time of year. Generally, the scanner will last about 12 hours with normal use but I’ve made it my goal to drain the battery as fast possible. To that end, I have it on max brightness and refuse to let the screen turn off. I’m tapping that thing through every break and forcing it into navigation mode (to activate GPS) as much as possible.
I’ve let management know it’s going to die and have received radio silence all day long. The moment it shuts down I’m driving back and sitting around waiting for it to charge while getting paid overtime. This company is fucking stupid.
That’s not apathy that’s self care
Hell yeah have a nice break
unfathomably good idea. You’ve inspired me to beat myself up about work less, it doesnt matter and the best thing I can do is slack off and do just enough to stay sane
I love malicious compliance.
Simple fixes require elaborate problems.
You should also check out the podcast Minion Death Cult if you haven’t heard of them. One of the hosts drives a package car as well and often talks about his experience on the job
I’ve tweeted at Alexander before lol. But I’m also allergic to social media and very quickly stopped using Twitter.
